Israel just completely blocked and outlawed Al Jazeera, an Arabian media outlet.
The US is trying its darnest to block TikTok.
EU (unsuccessfully) tried to block Russia Today and Telegram.
The same government that silences critical voices and freedom of expression.

They literally still use and fully embrace slavery. Nice people. Oh, and the qatari government also openly supports and funds hamas... You think Israel is wrong for banning their broadcast in israel? Lol
no it shouldnt and nice try with the bait.
Not to mention RT and others we banned. "Pawnhub" in TX, and many others coming up the pike.
States, countries, nobody seems to be any better than others on these matters.
In fact China has their own Steam outlet (dont ask how they get theirs, and we don't) and i haven't heard Russia banning Steam.
In fact others on another hub is asking why they aren't banned.
The fact is, there is no such thing as the "free market". Markets are only as free as our governments allow them to be. And we all have our reasons on why we ban certain outlets. Even in the "Land of the Free".
It apparently has nothing to do with race or nationality. It has to do with no free market at all in china and every chinese company has to do whatever the government tells them to do. Therefore, information collected by tiktok becomes national security issues... allegedly.
I know chinas strategy is to infiltrate every foreign entity they can which leads other countries to be suspicious of them. In my country there is an ongoing scandal that involves the chinese government and our current leader and election rigging. There have been standing politicians completely outed as Chinese spies in my country.

Again, i dont agree with banning any company from operating in any country.
