liek there have been bajillio game on Steam where u have separate account the game works through?

Why is this so anger?

Are people afraid of needing to buy PS+ or something?
Lily McFluffy Butt 2024 年 5 月 6 日 上午 5:33
It's crazy how people choose to ignore the reason people were angry.

The game didn't require a PSN account for 4 months. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Sony decided you needed a PSN account. It doesn't help that PSN is not available in a lot of countries.

Imagine being locked out of your favorite game after months of playing it without issue just because you're not in a country that allows the new system.

The actual facts are that it’s unreasonable for people who can’t make PlayStation accounts to be expected to make them to access a product they paid for. Any reasonable person or smart business could see this and that’s why the decision was reversed. Your post is devoid of facts and relies on name calling and straw man arguments.

I don't dispute the whole thing, but the requirement was there from the start and was clearly indicated as such and in the game. The only reason that was "optional" was, the the CEO of Arrowhead neutered the enforcement due to the fact that the game got unstable as they were not really prepared for so many players at once.

But it is still the ONE game that required that and the problem is now that it is wildly publicized and at least that EVERY game of Sony on Steam tried to enforce that.

Also, regarding "the Helldivers 2 forum is a standard Steam Forum" is not true either, it is just extreme toxic there. I was hopping around in other discussion forums, the tone there is very unlike the Helldivers 2 one, most are way more civil and not continously riding the uproar train and toxic kindergarten there is.
They removed the requirement because Sony's server couldn't handle the influx.

It isn't be 'heavily publisized' that every Sony game requires it. It's being told that future releases(using GoT as an example) will require it.

Good to hear that Sony gave up on that idea.
They basically had to.
The fact they were selling the game on loads of regions where PSN accounts weren't available set them up for failure.

It's akin to career suicide because you have a recent game reaching such massive success and then you try to pick a fight with those fans on a global level.

Reviews have gone up to 38% positive. I think it was 17% positive just a day ago.
Lets see if it goes back to overwhelming positive again.

Its quite obvious that you don't understand the issues driving this player backlash. Try reading up on it and getting back to us.

You convienently forget that the Helldivers 2 community has always been extreme toxic and its discussion forum has been a battlefield of uproars from day one. Up from my head there was big ruckus regarding nGameGuard (will be the next thing there... again), the constant kicking of other players in the game, the exploits and misbehaviour during gameplay, howling about plugging misuse and exploits etc etc... there is continous rage cooking.

The thing that they also ignored that the PSN requirement was there from day one, but disabled from Arrowheads CEO. After trying to re-enforcing it, they really got mad.

I didn't forget it because I am not a part of the Helldivers community. Toxicity of the community is a whole different issues not related to the topic at hand.

Sony/Arrowhead offered this game up for sale to X amount of countries right from day one knowing that a lot of paying customers would lose access to the game once they enforced the PSN linking requirement. They took the money and ran, fully willing to leave those customers holding the bag at the end of the day.

The notification on the storepage doesn't absolve sony/arrowhead of the wrongdoing in this situation. Its totally underhanded and thats what PC players are fighting back against.

ya, i imagine loads of people, are going to put any/all (or sony in general) sony games on their block lists now, after the all bs they tried pulling.

Even despite the notification on the store page, not enforcing the PSN requirement for 4 months makes anyone reasonably believe that it is not mandatory.

Especially with next to 0 communication that it was temporary. Even the CEO of Arrowhead admitted that they didn't adequately communicate it as a grace period.

If you trash People for 8 Years, & then just randomly tear down your walls,
& act as if nothing ever happened??

Your gonna get bombed heavily by the People you trashed for 4 to 8 Years...

What did People expect would happen??

Edit: Typo (4 Years Became 8 Years)

Yes, i'm mixing up People who started opening up 4 Years ago,
with Companies that started this 8 Years ago...

Ehhh, but it's fixed... I got this...

That being the pit of darkness at the end of the slippery slope has been on some people's minds, yes.

Also having to share their personal information with Sony (including a government ID check due to an age verification requirement in the UK) - a company that is well-known to have extremely poor standards for securing said data and probably is something of a record-holder for per capita number of data breaches.

The game industry is crashing. Political agendas, company closures, it’s in a free fall, social media stirring the pot when it is not warranted by design.

Woke agendas creating turbulence within the industry and it’s not going away. Dei fuelling the fire and corporate greed.
Storylines been attacked and changed to suit those that have motives to alter narratives that have been stable for decades.

Think there’s only one game this year I am looking to purchase, tired of early access, that take years to complete sometimes never, that become incomplete or a complete buggy mess or a complete con, or some companies that try to take advantage of gamers passions.

There are minor exceptions that stand out that show there is still a passion to create wonderful gaming experiences for all. Thou this is slowly becoming a rarity into today’s climate.
I did mention it a few years ago the gaming industry was in decline and in a few more years what will be left?
