Steam account locked and closed for something I did 5 years ago????
I just got an email and message saying my account will be closed and to trade my items to a friend if I want to save them. A community Manager sent me this and as you can see on my account I have been flagged for suspicious activity. But when I asked the reason it was being closed the Community Manager, responded with
"Dec 7, 2018

You traded with TRADE BOT#392.

StatTrak™ Five-SeveN | Kami"

This was 5 1/2 YEARS AGO on CSGO. I was 13, and during this time every CSGO youtuber out there was pushing these 3rd party sites. As an impressionable 13 year old I tried one of these sites once and got my inventory ripped from me because of it so I never did it again. Is it really fair to take everything away from me and go through a 5 day process to get all my progress back on another account?

That is a scam. Do not do it.

From another thread. It has instructions oh how to secure your account.

Oprindeligt skrevet af Ogami:
You account has been hijacked.

Do ALL the following:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

And in the future dont click on suspicious links your friends send you or log into third party trading sites with your Steam credentials, the two most common ways to get infected.

Also your items are gone, Steam does not restore items that leave an account for whatever reason. Learn from it for the future even if it was a expensive lesson.

Valve would never tell you to transfer your items. They would just lock the account. The scammer is trying to get you to transfer items, so they can intercept it and switch it to a fake account they make, with the same profile image and name.

The message on your account is fake too. It was put there by the scammer. You would get a red banner at top, if it was really from Valve. It would not be posted on your profile for everyone to see.

Oldest scam in the book, do what Spawn of Totoro posted to secure your Account and DO NOT TRADE ANYTHING.
Everything you trade you will lose to the scammer and you won't get it back.

Yeah, what others have said. It's a scam. Valve will just ban you and you will lose your items if they found you committed an offense worth a community/CSGO ban. They wouldn't give you time to save your items. Nor would they warn you. They'd only notify you once you've been banned.

Why would they email you that instead of telling you directly through the steam client

You can literally edit the fake message out of your profile description.

My main Account also got Community locked because I wrote under a cheaters profile, with 2 actually not friendly words. The reason was the same: This account has been suspended for sharing or upvoting suspicious content on Steam. The ban is until 2038. That also means that I can not play on VAC servers anymore, chat with friends or buy new games. This is in my eyes
ridiculou. I have contacted the Steam support 2 days ago, but they havent replied me yet...

The scammer has avoided putting enough text in the summary box to prevent your View more info button from appearing.

Because that would include the warning from Steam that Valve doesn't use that to communicate with your or anybody else.

They put that ♥♥♥♥ in the place u put your hello it's me I like viyagaemgaem stuff

Sounds perfectly normal....if you support democracy.

They go back in time and punish you for the wrong thoughts you had 10 years ago.

lol calm down with the fake stuff. Valve did not do this but a scammer. i wished people would pay attention. they will NEVER edit your profile for no reason. lol. if you did get caught cheating they won't announce it to all. there would be a message in the client. lol they fell for a scam. simple as that. they gave the information freely.
