Alas: report the profile that told you to do this, block them and move on. That's the best way, it's definitely a scam.
If you only lost $25 then you got away lightly. The only staff that will ever contact you is Steam Support and that is done through fixed messages or tickets viewable in the client. No Steam staff will ever take you outside of the platform to 3rd party sites or the likes of Discord.
If the OP purchased via Steam and gifted to another, a chargeback’s going to get the account terminated.
