I'm having too yes, given this Win 7 matter. If i see a game on sale, for like 5 bucks (generally the older games this PC can handle), i'm buying backups at GoG.

Rarely, but normally at a very low price on sale. This depnds if it worth it to you, or not really.

No. That's not feasible (paying twice for games sounds fun if you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' money which I don't), often not even possible (not all games are available on GoG). Nor necessary, for that matter, as Valve showin' no signs of wondind down.

yeah i know what u mean. but it was like satisfying my thoughts to "own" something. then why not buying the same game without drm.

i think its a good idea only buying those games on a sale for 5 to 10 bucks.

I think, spending 10 bucks on a second copy still is 10 bucks I can't spend on a game I haven't played yet.

I don't buy second copies of my games, but I do use GoG to get games I can't get elsewhere.

maybe its a "win-win" when u buy both games on sales u know? :D

I've done that with a few games, yes. In a few cases the GOG version was better optimised for newer computers, in most cases it were games both my kids wanted to play.

I buy from Steam.

I do have a GOG account with a few hundred games, but my "backup" in the case of some apocalyptic scenario where Steam get sucked into a black hole or something, I'll just take up sailing.

Not really, back when Steam games owned where transferred to GOG accounts using Connect, i now have a few copies of games as backup from Steam i already owned here but since this feature no longer exists, i only get GOG games thru giveaways and don't buy second copies actively.

I also don't fear Steam going down anytime soon, so there is no actual reason to buy from two different store fronts at the same time.

A lot of people do, but only during steep sales on GOG.

If both games are available at roughly the same price, why would you buy on Steam where you feel you need to buy a backup instead of just buying on GOG?

I've only ever bought games for the second time because their CDs were getting worn down or completely stopped working. I don't have a reason for buying multiple digital copies.

Sounds like a waste of money to me.

Seems like a total waste of money if you ask me buying a game twice just for the backup. But end of the day, it's your money.
