Reddit's much the same and you often see people malign that too, except it depends entirely where you go and what you do. I've yet to have any experience on Reddit that isn't polite because I go to pages where that sort of thing doesn't happen.
The same goes with Discord. Devs use it because they can CONTROL it appropriately like anywhere else, so no it doesn't have to be as sweepingly bad as you claim at all.
Bethesda, for example.
Discord is a nice communication tool, and worked great for meeting up with friends to play games during Covid. It is not a replacement for a forum with years of back posts to find answers in and tens of thousands of users.

That is correct. but then again, none of the servers I am on, have any immature people in them. Like others have said. if one pops its ugly head up, it is squashed very quickly.
