The hamster powering the review system had a heart attack. They couldn't find a replacement, so they need to modify it to run off of another power source. Happens all the time, sadly.
Really? Hows the future? It is Tuesday here!
... If you send me the lottery numbers for Wednesday, I'll split the winning with you....
Nah, it's the automatic content check service which is overloaded again.
Has been happening on and off for literally years. Valve never fixed it.
Probably they have some kind of resource leak in the thing, which slows it down over time until posts literally start queuing up for analysis faster than the service can process them. And then it snowballs and spins out of control. Once someone has managed something is wrong and finds the time to administrate the system and kill and restart the service's gunked up instances, it would first have to spend ages flushing out the built up queues - while they are still having more messages pushed on at the other end.
Has nothing to do with Tuesday maintenance. This problem just surfaces randomly whenever the content checker reaches the end of its rope. It's especially fun when it happens late on a Friday and isn't fixed until the next Monday afternoon.
