Outside of that have you tried any of the online courses like Duolingo? I've heard they can be quite good.
I probably missed some things though
You get better at it the more you casually hold conversation, just talking about things into, maybe games, movies, books, or etc. Never be afraid to ask questions, or share things like talking about difference between one country to another, as you learn things about the world how people can think differently, and so on.
Subtitles aren't always perfect translations, but hearing people pronounce the words and using words in a context you can visually connect to really helps with learning. At least for me.

you said it's hispanic community. is it within English speaking area? if yes, disown your community till the test and live in English community while you study and actively communicate with people around. that's the best way to learn fast. 3 months is just about right to grasp basics and to be fluent on basic topics.
