Has Valve got to big for its own boots
Valve no longer makes games a such and there Anti-Cheat system hardly works. Its seem to me why Valve when started out were great. Now they seem disinterested.

VAC is still constantly banning people. There's literally a whole forum full of it.
"There", where?

Hilarious, now that's quite the bad timing my post had. I meant the "there" in the OP.

Why make games when you can simply sell the games made by other companies with zero investment from you... max profit.

If Valve isn't investing any resources into Steam, why are games being published here rather than somewhere else?

Actually, Valve doesn't pay for game to be on Steam. They have always left it to the game's developer/publisher to choose to put their game(s) on Steam.

Valve does have expenses and is continuously trying to improve Steam (though not often in the areas we may want) so they do have a lot of resources going out. Then there is the R&D for hardware and they have said they have games in development too.

Then they should patch the game so it doesn't happen.

They do patch the game to prevent certain kinds of cheating entirely. Other kinds of cheating like aimbots aren't possible to patch out of the game (it wouldn't be much of a shooter if you couldn't aim and shoot in it), so they use anticheat instead.
VAC works just like most other leading anticheats, it's just not ring 0 so it's not as invasive for trickier programs.

However how it handles bans is just like any other anticheat/company, in fact it's better because it doesn't do ban waves like other anticheats do. Instead, it bans at random after a program has been detected.

The concept is the same as banwaves, to make it more difficult for cheat developers to determine just when their cheat is detected. A former Blizz worker even acknowledged that this is the better way to handle bans.

Exactly. My game is on Steam because Steam gives me access to a huge amount of data storage and processing stuff for free. Right now I'm working on revamping how inventory items are networked in my game, and precisely zero of that data is stored on a server I have to manage or pay for.

Plus all the other features Steamworks has completely for free to the game developers and players.

People seem to forget that storage and bandwidth to a degree Steam uses...isn't cheap.

Not even close to the millions required to produce an AAA game.
Whatever they do it doesn't work it's like sticking your finger in the hole of the dam. They should put time and resources into making a CSGO like game where you can not actually cheat. I know there is an army of people that want to say that's impossible but they should try.

True, which might also be why they decided to step back from making games. "Why take risk when there's a guaranteed income?"
