Or help for the game, which is why i would think the game hubs are supposed to be the most useful. You get perma banned, they can ban you from all tech help on the game.
Escalation is usually 3 day, 7 day, 30 day, 1 year, permanent, though they could have made changes in the last two years.
It is incredibly hard to get the account terminated. I have only heard of it happening one time and the person really pushed for it to happen, to they point they were harassing support and threatening Valve employees.

I think it's almost impossible to be perma banned (except for cheating). I think i was banned about 42 times on this very hub, and only once did i get a community ban.
And that only happened, being i was banned from a hub, and came here right after, and got banned again. That constituted a community ban, for like three days or something.
Cheating may be the big thing though.
