Steam link?
There are a lot of games that work on controller, some made for it.
I've heard Steam link is the way to play steam games through you're TV.
Will we ever get a sort of "Roku device" that's specifically for steam, where you can connect a controller and game on a TV? I don't know if Roku has the capabilities to program in controller connectivity.
Apparently Steam link only works for smart TVs now, but I'd like to not have to spend all that money on a TV where I only bought it for one specifically singular feature

Of course you would need a PC to be able to run the game, so would it connect wirelessly or would you have to plug in a coord manually?

I really enjoyed my Steam Link but at this point since the device has been discontinued you'd be better off with a Steam Deck + a Dock to run it through your television.

There used to be a device and you may be able to find it second hand, note how ever it has its limit I believe up to 1080p and some more
You may be able to buy a cheap PC and use it as a streaming system from the PC (install Linux on it for light run and then just play remotely from the PC, set it to automatically open Big Picture mode on startup)

Some smartTVs also are able to get a Steam Link app to use, note how ever Samsung dose not support it any more (used to work here, sadly now its lost, was pretty good)

You may also be able to use a cheap tablet/mobile or some thing of that sort with the Steam Link app
But do note that as they do not have a internet cable option you may have more delay, and its best to be able to plush the device you use directly in on cable to avoid latency

Have you considered running an HDMI cable between your PC and TV?

A Chromecast with Google TV and a bluetooth controller should work. Download the Steamlink app, and don't forget to enable Remote Play in the Steam client. Keep in mind this is just rudimentary screen casting of what's shown on your PC monitor, so you won't be able to do something else on the PC connected to at the same time as casting to Chromecast.
