Pretty much, yeah. If you prefer the PlayStation style, you can get this one:

8BitDo is licensed by Microsoft.
and i dont know how these things are still being made.. i got refunds several
times with both and both are not fit for purpose.. and had problems with in 6 months
pdp had button snap which a old review said this was a problem.. still not fixed...
overall these will waste your time and money at the shops
a have a nacon rig for a spare that i took
just to stop the looping problems of returns above..
but it just doesnt feel as good as a 8bitdo
and this website showed the damaged parts drifting
and not holding the right position...on 2 Power A controllers
very helpful when requesting refunds..

8Bitdo Ultimate Wired Controller on special for $60aus is very good deal
still seems solid at a year old and still no drift... yay
The main thing to keep in mind is that it has a learning curve and sometimes you may need to find tricks to make things better: while I've grown really fond of the touchpad(s) I think it's also fair to say that... it's not perfect.
For example: I love playing GTA 5 (online) with my controller but... if I have to rely on the touchpad to turn my character 180 degrees then I'm usually long dead before I'm half way. Customizing also only does so much because if I increase the sensitivity then I'll run into problems with other tasks (like, say, looking around while driving or actually trying to aim and not 'overshoot').
So I found a loophole: look backwards (the camera shows you your avatar from the front), then aim my weapon: the result is my character immediately turning around.
But generally speaking I still love mine as much as the day I bought it.
Ive had two of the PDP fibre optic styled, wired 'afterglow' xbox one pads and although i never had issues with it getting recognised by steam (i much prefer wired for that reason) ,the buttons are cheap and dont give decent feedback on them-so you have to press them quite hard which is also noisy and very plasticy-theres no gradual response ,and the buttons do break.
plus theyre made extremely cheap-they might as well use them as toys in mcdonalds happy meals.
