About that, the Steam Client beta update from January 18th 2024 upgraded the Chromium version from 85 to 109 which is the last supported version on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. I don't really use Google Chrome that much since I prefer Mozilla Firefox but who cares.

I tested the Jan 24, 2024 Steam Client Beta version on Windows 7 yesterday which has the updated Chromium version and it seems to work just fine, kind of the same as before.

Valve just made it so the client stopped getting updates on Win7.

If at some point a new update to Steam on other OS versions breaks the Win7 version they will not bother to fix it.

You're just on borrowed time.

It's just going to increase the linux numbers and push win10 out faster as well. Cope, seethe, and mald morons. Enjoy your walled-garden shovelware and porn. Some people actually use their systems for work and/or want to own what they purchase. If the sys requirements for the game allowed for 7 then access should remain for 7. Simple as

Lmao no, using an older version of windows doesn't give you any cheating advantage.

Linux will not grow. Even with Win7 not being supported anymore Linux as a whole on Steam grew by 0.06%.

Fellow Windows 7 user here! I am running Windows 7 on my desktop computer. But honestly just give newer Windows version a chance, please. I have been running Windows 11 on my laptop since the beta in 2021/06 (June 2021) and I have to say that Windows 11 has been getting more better and more stable.

This is because of your disk's Read and Write speeds, If you have like a really fast NVMe drive then it would load almost instantly I assume. My laptop doesn't have the fastest NVMe speeds but it gets the job done.
