S.A.M
Can I get a vac ban through this program? I just get achievements in games honestly, but in some it’s simply impossible to do this because of the banal thing - there’s an achievement, but there’s no server for the achievement. (Hello old Call of duty Black Ops 1)

No. SAM simply sends an API ping to Steam to indicate that the achievement was completed - it mirrors what the game does, so there is no way to tell the difference.

SAM=cheater!
So what? I personally don't care what other people do in their single-player games, nor how they get achievements in those games. it has absolute zero bearing on my gameplay and my enjoyment of said games.

Just to note, there are a myriad of other ways to affect achievements other than SAM. In fact, SAM is probably not even the widest used method:
-Have a friend or family member help or complete the achievement for you.
-Edit the game files.
-Use someone else's game save file.
-Use a dev console or cheat codes.
-Take advantage of in game mechanics or features to bypass the "normal" route.
-Exploit bugs.
-Mods - either external or from the Steam Workshop
-Multi-boxing
-Win Trading
-Achievement Servers
-Steam User Console

Take note of the last one. Valve built into Steam itself the ability to manipulate achievements, exactly like SAM does, except without the GUI interface. So it's pretty much a non issue.

Excellent point.

I cheat too as much as I want.
I'd never do it in online gaming, but I rarely play online anyway. But I cheat like a ♥♥♥♥♥ in single player. Why? Because like you I enjoy the product I purchased to the full extent.

I completed Dark Souls on console. I felt I'd had enough of it, but I wanted to know a bit more and have a poke round, so I bought it cheap on PC and used it PURELY to cheat and no clip around and investigate as much as I could. I also wanted to play around with the physics a bit too and mess around with the variables to see how damage works.

And that's prefectly legal and above board.

Some people do have weird twisted senses. I don't get it, and that's why I point out that challenge I made - because such people do exist and I believe they should be held to account. If you can prove it, fine.
And that's the thing. This is pretty much the foundation of computer technology itself, let alone PC gaming. We wouldn't be where we are today without people digging into computer hardware and software code and tinkering and breaking everything possible to see what more can be done with the technology. It's like those Gear Heads that take apart an automobile engine just to see how it works and play around with it. This is the lifeblood of the real Tech Head and true PC Gamer. That's what makes it fun. A lot more fun than console gaming.

I have consoles, but rarely play them. Why would I want to be stuck sitting on my couch on a closed system with a lot of limitations when I can literally play any where I want in the world on a PC and do almost anything I want with that PC and the games I have on it? That's freedom, man.
You bring up an excellent point there.

We wouldn't have the security we have to day without those self same white hat hackers ripping things apart for us.
