When is valve going to start actually putting a disclaimer that a game was made with AI?
by the developers own words? I looked up the tag and didn't see anything significantly saying so, I imagine they'll be putting it in a big section of its own like they do with "this game contains drm" that kind of seperate section.

There are developer tags and player tags. The AI tag is a developer tag.

When will people learn that the subject line is not there to write a novel in?

For this?

Valve will use this disclosure in our review of your game prior to release. We will also include much of your disclosure on the Steam store page for your game, so customers can also understand how the game uses AI.

Second, we're releasing a new system on Steam that allows players to report illegal content inside games that contain Live-Generated AI content. Using the in-game overlay, players can easily submit a report when they encounter content that they believe should have been caught by appropriate guardrails on AI generation.

If that's a novel to you then that's troublesome,it's one sentence.

Guess I'll be sticking with older games then. Have to make sure the mods I use don't use A.I. either.

for all we known everything on steam is A.i. including the game reviews

steam doesn't have many employee's anyway Being A.i. helps them save money , if A.i. can make a game better then what steam is selling i say let it be sold , impress us with A.i. Games maybe we will get cheaper games instead of over priced trash from high end gaming studios that take 10 years to produce it

Well Valve have said they DO NOT want to host any games made with AI.

So it's likely irrelevant for it to be a tag considering that.

But you WILL get things creep through because scammers exist. But that still doesn't mean it should be a tag as it doesn't really offer much in the way of info that's usable to people.

They have said they are fine with AI games for awhile now as long as the content can be used by creators of the game.

It's just recently they made it so now if you use AI stuff you have to declare it to prevent steam from getting sued over any use of it in case the game companies lied.

Ah fair enough. I admit I tend to have nothing to do with annoucements and PR so it tends to go in one ear and out the other. My bad.

Although I still think this sounds a good way of doing it. I get they're obviously trying to avoid the obvious copyright problems as they'd be liable, but I still think there's little in the way of info that's meaningful in having it as a tag though.

Yeah I can dig that. Something that would be driven by the public would likely become meaningless, but if it's a notification up front from Valve then that's a different kettle of fish.

You just need to look out for the games that aren’t released broken with massive day one patches, those will be the AI ones.

Okay, that gave me a chuckle
THat's like every video game made in the last 20 years that wasn't Triple AAA.
