Also, the keys that tend come with hardware have a clause that you are required to redeem them. Some are not really game keys, but you need to use them on the manufacturer's site, after linking your account, and it redeems it direct to the account, AFTER it verifies you have the hardware that qualifies for the free game installed.
Which hardware?
Some require you to download and install their authentication tool so that only the person who actually purchased and used said hardware on their PC can redeem the key in question.
This prevents people from doing what you are trying to do, sell the key.
what you are doing has nothing to do with steam. nothing fits in the steam trade window, so if something goes bad, you have yourself to blame.
better option would be to see if you have any friends/family that would like the key. I am sure they would appreciate it and would be less likely to scam you.
When I got free games with my 2080 Super, they required me to link my Steam account and the games were added directly.
If you have a duplicate, then maybe think about giving it to a friend? You could create a new account and link their Steam/other account while using your system, then add it that way. Should only be done between people who trust each other for obvious reasons.
Also, the TOS with the hardware often states you can't sell or give away the free game(s), so I would suggest checking on that too.
If you're looking to sell, you're not doing that here or on any legit site.
Oh well, what can they do about that? Break into your house and take the hardware back?
Yeah, but that doesn't matter; it's not like they actually investigate what happens with those games.
It actually does matter, regardless if it is investigated or not. If found out, it could lead to legal issues and there are ways it can be found out, with out an investigation.
Best not to dismiss something out of hand, but to take it into consideration.
There is no such thing as an official key selling site, that allows users to sell their key.
They'll stop doing such promotions.
Well, first they must find out that you sold the key bundled with your hardware, right?
