Games marked as Private are still showing up

I have the beta version of Steam Client. I marked some of my games as "Private". When I click on my username right next to the Community tab, said "Private" games still appear. Do they only appear for me here, or is the private feature not working?

It's most likely because you are the one looking at the list.

What is a game you have private? If it isn't working, I should be able to see it in your game list.

They will always show for you on your account.

Login to Steam on your preferred web-browser than navigate to your profile. Copy the profile url logout of Steam in your browser and visit the url.

Or if you have the developer functions enabled you can simply copy the url from the application and save the browser login hassle to check your profile status.

Thanks for the help. I had a feeling that it was because it will show me my own games, but I wasn't sure when I made this post.

If you want ot see what other people are seeing, use the steam website in incoginto/private mode. For example, if you set your profile to profile, you can see your profile contents, but other cannot. As such what 'you' can see is not necessarily what other will see depending on your privacy settings.

This is an old thread, but is this still a thing? I set a bunch of games to private and anytime I see my games list, they’re all still there.

View your profile in a web browser, with out being signed in. If it worked, then you shouldn't see them.

I tried that, but I can’t figure out how to bypass the forced login screen, it won’t let me see my games list. I think steam needs to finally add a view as feature like some other social media. Just so I can verify my profile is set up the way I want it.

Games list is locked behind the login.

Thanks to both, looks like the feature works fine then, steam just needs to implement some sort of feature like a “view as public” so that people can verify what their settings are looking like to everyone else.

Hijacking this thread to ask if anyone knows if there´s a list or something like that, which lets you see all the games you marked as private, because I think I once accidentally marked a game as private but now I dont know anymore which one it was and I dont want to go trough 100s of games to check.
