"This account has violated the Steam Subscriber Agreement."
Received a message mid cs2 match from a private profile named Help#32.

This is the message I recieved:

This account has violated the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Steam Support has indicated that this account is in violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Account capabilities will be limited after 24 hours. After 24 hours, the account will lose the ability to trade, sell items on the marketplace, and access to the Steam community for a period of 1800 days. Within 24 hours, you have the opportunity to transfer your game values to another account that did not violate the policies of our service.
We took away your prime status and banned you from participating on the official servers!
At the end of the current match, changes with the removal of prime status will take effect.

I thought it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but then upon shift+tabbing; my username, picture, and profile desc were changed. I then finished my match and I no longer have a rank or prime status. I know I have not done anything to cause this so I have to be hacked right? I changed my password and ran some malware scans but am at a loss at what is happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

that is a scam. if you clicked on anything you fell for it. Steam will ONLY contact you on Steam not private messages or discord. you would see the notification
Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

You need to stop using your Steam account to log onto websites which aren't Steam, because that's what got you into this mess in the first place. Instead of logging into Steam you logged onto a scam website which nabbed your login data and used those to hijack your account by planting an API key, which gave them full control.

Then all they had to do was wait for the right moment.

my username, picture, and profile desc were changed.

It's a scam, and they already have access to your account. whatever you do, DO NOT TRADE.

As the above posts... secure your account and stop using 3rd party (scam/phishing) trading sites. (remember to revoke all other devices.. otherwise they still have access)

Hello! I have recently experienced the same scam too. I have removed the malware from my PC, changed my password, and unauthenticated all devices. Is there any way I can get my prime status back? Should I write to support?

There is no such thing as 'prime status' of a Steam account.
In case of individual games, any 'prime status' is either something managed through the game itself via something like a reputation score, or it's something you buy like a subscription - in which case it's a license on your account.

API-key access by hackers / hijackers / scammers, can allow them to disable licenses and 'revoke' your status.

You need to go here https://help.steampowered.com/en/ find the game and then restore the licence that the hijackers removed.
Thanks!

I meant in cs2, not the steam account itself, but thanks! I fixed the issue.
