I went down the modern gaming rabbit hole

And I found Sweet Baby Inc.

I have been gaming for nearly 30 years.
As of today I will no longer be purchasing games from these companies. I've had enough.
I would encourage you to do your own research before making any game purchases from now on.

The only way we can ensure quality games without an agenda is to stop throwing money at companies that work with Sweet Baby Inc and are after a high ESG score.

This is my boycott list.

Blacklist (will not purchase under any circumstance)

Any project that is involved with Sweet Baby Inc I will no longer be purchasing. That includes Grand Theft Auto 6.

Here's the list of companies I am boycotting

Bethesda

Remedy

Insomniac

Ubisoft

Electronic Arts

Microsoft

Bungie

Activision Blizzard

Naughty Dog

Konami

Rocksteady

Santa Monica Studio

Game companies I will tentatively support (likely won't purchase the games unless they are at a steep discount):

Capcom (I strongly disagree with charging $6 for costumes in Street Fighter 6, but they're doing great with Resident Evil in my opinion)

Valve (If Sweet Baby Inc is involved in any of their future projects they will not see any $ from me)

CD Projekt Red

Square Enix

Playstation exclusives

Rockstar (But again, if Sweet Baby is involved it's a no from me)

Companies I will continue to support (at the moment)

No, my standards are based on if a game is fun to play or not. If people think option changes or added things are woke or evil, that's on them.

If the game is fun, I play it. If it's not fun, I don't. Simple really. The fact that people scream "Woke" all the time, is actually hilarious to me is all. Since it doesn't affect gameplay in the slightest. It's a game, who cares? You either enjoy it, or you don't.

Most of them don't even know the meaning of the word - they just use it as a excuse to misbehave and raise a ruckus.

The point you're missing, it's perfectly within your rights to not buy something that isn't in line with your own beliefs etc.

However, there's no need to make a thread stating what you're not going to buy, I'm sorry but no one really cares about another person's buying habits.

Do you think I made a thread for every Steam game purchase that I made? Giving my game count, I think you can guess that answer.

It gets even more ridiculous when OP states that he's been gaming for 30 years, if that's true, then it is almost a 100% certainty that he is bought from these companies before in the past and didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Pretty much sticking to indie games where devs can tell a joke to the person playing it.
You want to what with our precious IP?! Screw your copyright. A mouse is generic as any other mouse. A glowing stick like any other stick.

CD Projekt Red is out for me, because they force Win 10 for their games already. Games that worked fine in Windows 7 like Cybershrek 2077 and Bwitcher 3.
Havok developers seem to be everywhere nowadays, there is one other I forget the name.

Or the company behind The Last of Us 2, Horizon 2, Spider-Man: Miles Morales that is sensoring Japanese games that are too sexual? Oh wait, you excluded most of their studios with your blacklist already.

Yeah, no ESG padding going on within these companies.

Rule of thumb: if they are publically traded, they will engage in ESG padding.
Fun Fact: companies can request not to be disclosed as a partner. (Not to mention that this company is just one among many.)
