Multiple accounts
Is it against ToS (or any other important rules) to use multiple Steam accounts?

no but some games ban you for logging in with more than one account

From a short-sighted perspective I kinda doubt it, unless the intention with multiple accounts is to circumvent or bypass restrictions, like a steam community ban or a game ban.

For a long time, having an alternate account was the most convenient way to offload adult only games that you didn't want to disclose on your main profile, but nowadays that is solved just by setting those games to private.

Is there another reason why you are considering having multiple accounts?

Having multiple accounts is allowed. You can even have them use the same e-mail address.

I have an alt account for game key of games I had duplicates of or was not interested in adding to my main account.

Some games use Remote Play Together feature. I'd like to test something by "joining myself".

nothing more pro than fighting against yourself on two accounts in the same game. :P

Some games such as Dota 2 will ban you if you try to play with multiple accounts.
Make sure to check the rules for the game to see if it is safe to do so.
