I'm considering buying more games on Battle.net but i mainly use Steam, i know that Blizzard was bought recently by microsoft i think.. ? we see that Diablo 4 and Overwatch already on steam, so i don't want to buy games so i will have to buy them again on Steam or we will be able to move games for free?

You would need to ask them. I doubt anyone here has any inside information on the matter, unless they announced something that I am not aware of.

Moving to Steam is highly unlikely, like Bethesda games were. The Bethesda launcher was far smaller than Battle.net still is.

As most battlenet games are already on steam, you cannot move games between your accounts.

As one who follows the Blizzard upcoming changes, games that can be moved will be brought over to Steam, at this stage that list only excludes World of Warcraft and Hearthstone as a result of how both games are interconnected via the Battlenet platform itself, as often times the two games exchange usage items with each other. Like playing Hearthstone for the first time unlocks the Hearthstone mount in World of Warcraft and its all integrated into the Battlenet via the user itself.

That said, all games besides World of Warcraft (ignoring Warcraft 1-4) and Hearthstone may move over to here, it is very unlikely however they will intergrate the Battlenet into Steam due to the massive differences the two platforms have along with a number of different tech issues.

With the Microsoft deal on the table and takeover imminent, it's very possible more games could come to steam. however Microsoft have the talent and even more games to their library, i can't see any reason why they wouldn't try to create a rival store, i mean if they do it right instead like they did with the live store a few years back, they could be very competitive.

It would take miracle for them to compete with steam and win wouldn't it ?

They were doing fine on their own, honestly... then Activision butted in and added their games to the Battle.net launcher.

Now Microsoft owns them, so things will likely change. I expect my Battle.net account to be tied to my Hotmail account at some point, like with my Mojang account and Minecraft.

They only need the games people's would play..... why do you think they bought Activision blizzard?
For the great inovative games they make, or because they could put them exclusive into their subscription service?

Bethesda's games came to Steam after acquisition by Microsoft which acquired ActiBlizz recently. That, and there already are ActiBlizz games on Steam. As for transferring your game purchases, don't count on it. Bethesda's games became transferrable after a while, with the reach of the ActiBlizz launcher, this isn't entirely guaranteed.

No, it is a similar setup to EA and Ubisoft who have their games on their launcher as well as the option to get it on Steam as well. I get that some people have more games on Steam compared to the other libraries (ie: Epic, GOG, EA, B-net, etc). But DON'T buy them again if you have the game on one of those platforms already, not worth it. Steam is great, but learn to embrace different launchers, it's not really that hard or an inconvenient to have separate accounts for each. :47_thumb_up:

I thought about this not one time like many other people i guess, sometimes it's really annoying having not one or two but even more launchers, but buying game again i don't know.. i myself try to buy everything on Steam and Battle.net but that not always work , in a perfect world there would be one launcher but monopoly means no competition ..
seriously doubt it.
