Gaming is becoming very boring and dull
I don`t know you but gaming seems off since roughly a year now.

Before it was nice to be spending time with your friends in games and role play or simulate stuff. Now I`m all alone and it feels off...I am not enjoying games anymore

Gaming now is: dlc skins, battlepasses, buy special currencies.
No one listens anymore to what the players want but just keep on launching games after dlcs after events and so on.
I mean like today you pay 40 50 dollars for a game and hope people play it and it doesn`t die like that game that came out recently and got cancelled after 3-4 days. And even if it doesn`t get cancelled you still don`t have the full game experience as there are DELXUE, ULTRA DELUXE and probably some other mega ultra big words DLCS requiring other extra payments that you need to do in order to enjoy the full game experience you would suppose to already have for the price you paid.

The gaming industry lost it's spark somewhere along the way. The joyful gamers who were once playing now became grown men and the new generation doesn`t know what it wants and swallows everything it gets.

Maybe it's not like this maybe some of you view it differently than me but sadly this is my opinion.

I wish you all good games and most importantly HAVE FUN and take care of your health.

Absolutely not. Corporate greed is destroying the game industry more and more each year. Gaming is becoming more and more a frustrating hobby. And this situation happened not last year, but in my opinion, dates from the time companies decided to sell games barely functional in a pre-alpha stage at full price labelling it "early access". As to the games needing micro-transactions being part of this mess... Yes, most probably; but I don't play any of this kind of games. The greed behind this system is too evident to me, and it leads me to not wanting to have anything to do with such a scheme. The bottom point is: I was buying a lot of games during steam sales in the past ten years. Now, I buy almost nothing on steam, because almost everything is of the "early access" type of crap. And when I buy a game, I buy it on cheap sites selling CD keys, because I refuse to go to the restaurant and pay full price a meal that I've to cook myself.

Gaming was amazing this year, just like every year. You are factually wrong

It actually depends on how old you are. I can understand your comment now.

Buy & play games that don't drown in that crap. There's a huge lot of them. They are many. Nobody's forcing you to buy a game drowning in DLC (which tend to be content cut from the game to be sold separately to increase the effective price), battlepasses (which is a form of psychological manipulation) or currencies (especially several of them, the moment there's more than 1, I know they're into fooling their "customers").

Yup, the moment there's an edition above "deluxe", they clearly haven't gotten the memo about what the term "deluxe" means.

Play games that don't have any of this ♥♥♥♥! There's a lot of them to the point of me not going to work for a year (while still having money for rent, food & videogames) and still not having the time to play all the awesome stuff I've been buying. Nobody's forcing you to buy games drowning in crap! Buy those that don't! What's with those blinders? Why pretending like ALL games were full of ♥♥♥♥?

Oh, look, another thread by a person who doesn't want to search for games but wants them presented with breakfast in bed.

Gaming as a hobby has become mainstream. And if you don't want games with DLC, battlepasses, special currencies, skins etc... you have to look around for NICHE games. And those aren't being advertised on front pages. Those games with the things listed are meant for the MAINSTREAM audience. Games which don't have battlepasses and special currencies exist by the thousands, but they are not for everyone. They are aimed at very specific target audiences. So as long as you know what you want from a game, a search always yields results.

Thats only a problem in multiplayer games which i dont care about.

There are many good games coming out in general, both indie and "AAA" . But there's less time to play them all due to adult life :steamsalty: Also, some of my favorite series have been put on ice and no new games are coming out.

Now.. DLC, microtransactions and lootboxes can be bad. They can also be easy to get with almost no investments thanks to twitch drops, amazon prime and in-game events (login every day to get something).

Gold/Ultimate editions also get discounted eventually. If you wait long enough you will get entire game content and all the bug fixes for a fraction of the price. Plus, you avoid any disasters/scams this way.

You probably should take a break from gaming or atleast find something else to keep yourself content with your time spent. You should probably try to find other than multiplayer games to see if its your thing or meet up with others outside of gaming, personally i do a bit of both to keep some games i stick to a bit more fun.

Breaking the meta is hard but finding a gem even more worth it, no it dosen't have to be gaming it could be other things in life as well, give it a try atleast.

I see you in the bayou one day

Been gaming since the dawn of the home video games market, this year was a corker. It doesn't depend on age, it depends on your ability to find games you love. I found several gems this year, just as I do most years.

Every year has been both the best and worst year in gaming depending on who you ask. For me it's the same as has been for 35+ years, a good gaming year. And looking at what I have wishlisted on various platforms that's yet to be released, it looks like it'll continue that way.

Fromsoft is still good :) And indies. And probably some others.

Thank god I don't play Online games. They've been busted for years now.
eh, I dunno, roleplayers really are niche. Always have been.

In all the MMOs I've played, I may have found around 5 people that actively role play, while everyone else is just plvl and rushing to the end content.
