So where do I report bugs for steam?
I'm getting seriously frustrated when going through pages on steam, and it jumps to main page when I go "back". How hard is it really to code the correct return page (rhetorical, I've been working with web pages for over 20 years)?

EDIT:
Last update apparently fixed it, and after a reboot it looks like it's working. So all good!

It is a know issue. No need to report it. There was a thread in this discussion about the issue as well as several in the Beta discussions.

First off: You shouldn't be using the steam client to browse the forums or any website. There's a real web browser for that. You might want to try using it. The steam client is for starting, installing, and managing the games we own.

Secondly: The "Back button" problem was fixed for many people (I think everyone?) in a recent steam version update. You might want to make sure your steam client is up to date.

First off, would be weird seeing the Steam client has a built in browser (it's all a browser) that should at least work for THEIR forums and pages, right? Your way of thinking makes no sense what so ever, defending a faulty client? What?

Secondly. I always have my stuff updated. Stop implying I don't know how things work. I literally wrote in the main thread that I've been working with web pages for over 20 years, you don't think computer knowledge comes with that line of work?

Thank you for the reply. I haven't had enough time to search for this and just wrote a short thing to get more knowledge. I'll clear my cache and see if it helps, or just wait for more updates.

Have a nice day!
It’s supposedly been fixed, but in true Valve fashion they released in in a beta build released *after* the last stable build meaning who knows when stable users will see it. There’s also reports that the fix still isn’t permanent (which is concerning given Valve’s reluctance to revisit issues they consider “closed”).

Right. However steam's built in browser is a 3-year-old version of Chromium and as such it shouldn't be used to browse any website other than steam's own websites. Still though.. you're going to cause excessive ram usage in the client if you try even browsing the steam website in it. There's no need. Real browsers are +5000% better anyway and we get novel things like ad blockers.

I think that folks should get into the habit of not doing web-browser stuff in steam.

Then ffs let Valve stop building their client to be one...

Just because something exists does not mean you have to use it. Especially when there are better options available.

You are making zero sense. Their browser, should work in their client, for their pages.
It's that simple.

I'm not installing games and browsing their workshops in a different browser.
And that I even have to point out that I'm not using their client to browse the rest of the internet, is just... I'm not sure if you just came here to try and sound important, or troll.
You can report bugs here:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/

I am not sure if it does anything, but it creates awareness.
You can also post them here. Other users may look at them.

Thank you, but since this clearly is a very known problem, I'm going to assume they know more than enough about it :P And I'm pretty sure they're getting spammed about this on a daily basis.
The fix for the backbutton issue has been released as part of the current Steam client and indeed as fas as I've seen it's fixed. If you're not updated yet: Steam -> "Check for Steam Client Updates..."

Nah I'm always updated, but I still have the issue. Might just have to clear the cache.

EDIT: Actually, it seems to be working now (restarted my PC like 10 minutes ago) so... Yay!

Here are things you can try.

- Head to where Steam installed, delete everything in folder except for Steamapp folder, and Steam.exe, then run steam.exe see if issue been fixed.

- Opt into steam beta to see if that fixes it for you.

Now ensure you're not using any 3rd party software that hooking into the steam client, messing with the file, and permission for steam.

Thanks, but I've done it all. Last update actually fixed it after I restarted the PC.

You quoted my words but it seems you did not actually read my words that you were quoting. I will therefore highlight something for you that you missed:

I specifically said OTHER WEBSITES right there. Which means: People trying to use the built in web browser in the overlay to go browsing other non-steam websites on the internet while gaming. I never said anything about using the built in browser to browse steam's own website and forums and such. That's all perfectly fine. That's not what I was talking about at all.

I really thought I wrote my words in a easy to understand way. I guess not. *Shrug*
