how to total the size in disk space of all uninstalled Steam games?
Hi,

my Steam library has a list of uninstalled games. Instead of noting for each game their required hard drive size, is there a quick way to total the size of all games?
If yes which?

thanks

Yes, it tells you in the Steam settings how much of your hard drive is used for games. It's easy to find.

There are some third party sites that do that steamcalculator dot something, sorry don't quite remember. OR rather, they give you the total size of your library. Just subtract your library folders (<steam install path>/steamapps/common/).

Sorry OP you can ignore that as they didn't read the thread. Calculating the size of your library folders obviously will do nothing for you since your wanting to calculate the size of your UNINSTALLED games...

The best way is to shift click and select all the games you want to install, then click to install them. When the next screen pops up click the gear icon and you can check off each game you want to install and it will tell you the total required space it would take at bottom of the screen. It might not be 100% accurate but would be close.

That doesn't work anymore, they changed it a few months back; now it only shows the size of each game and not the total sum.

I have to say this...
The total size of your uninstalled games will, by merit, always be zero.

Nope, just tested and it still works. You have to click the gear icon like i said and you get a screen where you can check off each one and see cumulative size

That's weird, clicking the gear icon just opens Steam's storage manager for me,only showing what i already have installed. Are you in the Steam beta client perhaps?

But there are folders that hold data for games that were installed prior ranging anywhere from kilobytes to a gig depending on the game. You can find them in steamapps in the file explorer

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
