Samurai Chess Game like Battle Chess/War Chess

Greetings all:

Is there a game in the style of Battle Chess/War Chess:

but with Samurai or Ninjas?

Been looking for one, alas.
I did find a "Samurai Chess game", but it is not with fighting scenes, like Battle Chess/War Chess.

Reason:
My son, who has severe ADHD, loves to learn chess, and is keen on Samurai and Ninjas.
Having had Battle Chess back in the days of my Amiga 500 ... it seemed logical to combine this with my son's interests.

If anyone can think of one ... ?
I'd be most grateful.

I don't know but that sounds an epic idea!

Without it being battle chess which has animations there is a work around this is off top my head with no real research other than seconds of thought.
Find old free chess game (so you don't invest money if it does not work) see if they have a simple file for the chess pieces like jpeg png bmp mydelilah whatever. Replace them with pictures of samurai and ninjas of similar theme.
It might work or might not. Just an idea if one does not exist in the now.

outside steam may be a different story...

i only seen 1 on steam that is asian specific (chinese in fact), but i didnt see any ninjas or samurai, i didnt dig for any more info on it tho and its an old game (1991).

the rest are more in line with knights and such, or witches, orcs and stuff, ect..

though thats not to say in some you cant change to that type of style as an option in one of the games, didnt see any mention of it so far, but also didnt look to see if any or all had mods in steam or from a mod site.

also keep in mind, glancing over a few of the "battle chess" games, i noticed a few with bad rating, one even being abandoned and unfinished and has tons of crashing, so be mindful looking through them, while looking for any info on what you are looking for.

that being said, i loved playing that game back in the day and i guess its still a bit fun playing it now a days (the original).

anywho, im sure others will pop in and probably mention some stuff, hopefully you find what you are looking for.

Battle Chess was a great game back in the day.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can find a game that ticks all the boxes. You can get the original Battle Chess, Battle Chess II and Battle Chess 4000 on gog.com

Battle Chess and Battle Chess 4000 both have the classic chess board. You can get eastern characters in Battle Chess II but the actual board is Chinese chequers, not western chess.

Battle Chess 4000 does have a space setting so perhaps he'll like that?

It predates Battle Chess, the original anyway. Its an updated remake. I was playing it in 1984.

It has the eastern characters but according to the screenshots I could find, it uses a "Chinese chess" Xiangqi board, not the western 8x8 tile board.
