Ready or Not, devoloped by Interactive Studios is a scam and should not be on Steam as an EA title

Honestly, as more time passes the title of early access makes less and less sense.

It started with VOID stating they would not work on any other projects until this was completed, then the studio completely changed their tune:

I really do not think it looks possible to have a full release by year end (if ever).

They managed to lose the team 17 partnership:

Void has no studio, no roadmap, no concrete plans, no actual release date specified, moderators are not even sure if the head office is in Ireland or New Zealand (although they don't have any physical office at all), and the devs have been nearly completely silent about any news at all.

Even the listed "CEO" Julio Rodriguez has a blank pic linkedin profile and went from posting often about RoN to not posting anything in the last 9 months (which is never a good sign):

Steam should just remove this bloody techy demo from the store. Calling it EA is becoming more and more of a stretch everyday.

Even if they did decide to abandon it, what motivation would they have to announce this? The second they do steam revenues cease. If they just give ambiguous nothing answers through nameless moderators it can stay on steam as EA and people will continue to buy it. What is funny is that the ToS originally developed under NZ jurisdiction. That means the little clause about not bring a class action lawsuit is completely eroded.

If they ever fully abandon the game (through an official statement) I would seriously consider bringing legal action against them. The damages are not much (if it remains a single action) but it would give everyone a great chance to review the company financials so we can see exactly where the EA funds went in terms of development.

I dunno man, it all just feels so shady.

Next time try educating yourself a bit better on what "Early Access" actually means and implies, because everything you mentioned has no bearing on that at all, though I get the sentiment.

Still, in the end you buy an Early Access title with the understanding that you get the product as is, there are no promises or agreements or guarantees that anything beyond what you got is going to happen.

So to accuse a developer of scamming? IMO this tells us a lot more about you than the developer in question, even though I can somewhat understand where you're coming from.

Every Early Access game have written on it's store page, that you buy it in a state it is and that it can never be finished or it can change overnight into something else. So it's not a scam.

EA games are not guaranteed further support or development. They could cease work five minutes after EA launch and there'd be nothing you could do about it because when you purchased the game you agreed that you were fine with how it was on that day.

I don't see an issue. It's a game in development that is being halted, which is nothing special or strange in game development.

Void has their HQ in Dublin. They also have job openings for there.

Seems EA isn’t for you.

Projects fail. Games get canceled. Plans get changed. Framing things as a "promise" works well for user narratives, but that's all. Reality takes precedence. And none of the "promises" are legally binding in any way. And users having a fit about changes isn't new either.

You're free to your opinions, and you're free to take whatever action you want based on your opinions. But they aren't universal and not everyone is going to agree with you.

As others have suggested, above all else remember the Early Access disclaimer. Ignoring that and having hurt feelings is going to be viewed as self-inflicted.

So because they're not pumping out updates every X amount of days/weeks, or not out of EA, and because someone has a blank profile PICTURE, that automatically = scam what you claim.

Here a suggestion, stop buying EA games, if you can't wait for updates to happen, why even buying them in the 1st place, just wait until game finished, then buy it, it's not hard, nor is it rocket science, heck even a child can understand this logic...

Your evidence is very, very weak. Nothing in your post suggests it is a scam. Game development is constantly evolving, even AAA titles need to make changes. Deadlines need to be moved, features need to be cut, and resources need to be reallocated. That is just the reality of game development.

I mean it seems like a smear campaign with weak arguments that is likely to bring more people to the game but I didn't see anything against the ToS. Was it the link sharing somebody's information? (seems unlikely because the post wasn't locked/deleted.) Unless it was another post in this forum that WAS deleted, which I guess is possible.

I'm not trying to question moderator decisions or anything, just trying to figure it out in order to understand better.
