Please Don't Sell Valve to Microsoft
Don't ruin a good thing and sell yourselves to Microsot. Bill Gates ruins everything he buys. Skype, Git Hub, Sourceforge, etc.

What Bill Gates, he ain't in the Microsoft anymore, since 2008, or is it the billingsgate, which you're speaking.

You are aware that it's just an brainstorming email that got leaked, right? One from before the Zenimax acquisition even, the email is from 2020.

What makes you think Valve is interested in doing that?

Keep in mind that Bill Gates left Microsoft board of directos about 10 years ago. Most of the stuff you mentioned happened after that.

This. It's not some new plan, it's just old discussion.

Oh yes the glorious 0,9% of Microsoft.

Phil Spencer was just making some hypothetical, speculative and somewhat delusional emails - probably got bored during the pandemic. Microsoft have been absolutely desperate for years just for some games and the only way to attain this was some aggressive mass market acquisitions. He threw a few big names out there and made some minor inquiries but the reality is they likely wouldn't stand a chance of acquiring half the companies mentioned either by finance or competition legalities.

You should research your claims before making them. Thanks for the laugh.

Blackrock and Vanguard together are 15%. That's not a "huge chunk".

Ah yes, the old "Microsoft baaad" trope.

Honestly? I think you'd be surprised to see how little is going to change (at least not right away) in case they'd take over.

I still recall the horror stories about Minecraft when MS took over and ... yah, I do agree that some recent changes in that game weren't exactly for the best (IMO that is, but... copper pushing iron out of the way, anyone?).

But at the same time I'm also not convinced that this was purely because of MS. Mojang (which still exists) has made several rather "specific" decisions regarding Minecraft in the past. Some good and some.. maybe controversial?

Seriously... the thing I'd imagine getting "updated" right away in case MS did take over Steam would be an optional link between a Steam & Microsoft account (only to have them considering to make this link mandatory in 5 - 8 years or so, and even then it's unlikely to happen). And I could imagine that MS is going to officially drop their MS store and put their full attention to Steam.

But as for Steam itself? I seriously doubt that anything drastic would change.

However, in all fairness... I have to admit that I consider myself to be a bit of a "Microsoftie"; I actually enjoy working with Windows 10, and my favorite "laptop" turned out to be my Surface Pro X.

So Vanguard and BlackRock are just proxies for master Bill, to control his baby Microsoft, which he sold his shares and quit being part of the board, that Bill Gates, apparently is the high lord of Vanguard and BlackRock.

I'm not entirely convinced that chart is really helping your conspiracy theory.
