Valve makes piles of money, just look at how much that pricepool for the international 4 increased because of compendium sales. Take that number and multiply that by three, that is how much they earned on that tournament only.
i wonder how many users there really are on steam/ps/xbox
Steam is the go to place to grab games for almost nothing for devices that will always use or emulate the software they run on. With a better device comes better gameplay and an evolving experience. There is absolutely nothing I am okay with saying about it. Because if they changed their policies even a little they could sway their entire library out of reach for everyone. Ultimately that's my only worry with steam.
I really hope they never change.
Lol.
Also need to take into account the next things that come into the market that may even change the profit.
1. SteamBox + SteamOS
2. Oraculous Rift as much as i know is not supported by console yet..
3. Half Life 3 - That alone may profit Valve with more then what sony did from selling the PS3 and the PS4 togerder
