7 was slated for Jan 14 2020 but received retention for 3 more years (2023) and valve is ending support in 2024.
So I'd guess 2029 ish?
all we can do is speculation since it's all depend on what valve decide.
And just like they've done now, there's gonna be ample time to upgrade before it actually happens.
There chance Windows 10 may get ESU, FYI for those that confuse EOL, both are they're own thing.
EOL is end of life means no more changes, or big updates.
ESU is extended security updates, this is to update for security that it.
Windows 7 already had EOL back in 2020. Before say hey but didn't it end in 2023, that actually ESU that ended in 2023 that means no more updates at all it completely dropped OS.
Worse case if w10 don't get ESU, do work around to install w11.
If Win10 can handle any changes Valve makes to Steam I doubt they are gonna cut support for it.
So I would imagine there's still plenty of time.
maybe less, maybe more, ..
Microsoft wants to get rid of Windows 10 asap ..
Support for Windows 10 7 has already been dropped, as of January 1st, 2024. Steam will continue to work until enough updates happen to cause it to fails on Windows 7.
As for Windows 10, it will happen eventually there too. We can't predict as to when, but not for 5 or more years, at the least. More then enough time to save up for a new PC is need be.
