I tried more than enough to use windows 10..it's still garbage.
I also tried windows 11, which is even worse..
So is that our only choice for gaming in 2023? a bad OS or an extremly bad OS.. ?
There is Linux,... but not all games run on linux + linux is not friendly user as old windows was.
Google hold everyone in hostage lol.

I hope there will be a kind of emulator that could make Steam work on older OS, still capable of running games.

you can make up and use anything to support your position...

but if hackers realise or find it easy to target a unsupported OS more
than a supported OS... well... where are your stories going to get you then...

128 days til 2024 and you can be playing games
or
running into trouble if you havent worked out a replacement for win 7...

So if windows 10 is free, where do they get their money then? lol.

You do realize Microsoft was always making more money by selling Windows to OEMs than retail licenses off of store shelves, right? And depending on the system, not all have a full key. OEM keys, as opposed to full retail licenses, cannot be transferred and they are locked to the motherboard in the system so that cannot be replaced either without the owner of said system needing to buy a new key.

Linux is oriented programmer, because just installing a game is a trick you need to know.. while on windows, you double click the .exe and voila. it's the only reason why there is not much people using Linux. still not enough friendly user.
you haven't watched the video on mint I guess.
for years, linux distros have been using a package manager, which is like microsoft store and google play, to install stuff.
no need for browsing the internet, just run the app installer, search for something, install.
then afterward it works the same, icon on desktop, double click.
x to close.

edit: the video doesn't show the 'software manager' in action, but it is listed in the apps and shows you can just click stuff just like on windows

I started with Windows 95. I used every Windows version since.
I have no "nostalgia" for a OS just because i used it for a few years.
Every OS has its good and bad points.
Was Windows 7 a good OS? Definitely. But its also 14 years old at this point and woefully out of date and open to massive security flaws.
I switched from W7 years ago for those reasons and i switched from 10 to 11 for the same reasons.
I just prefer to have the newest, most up to date in functions and security OS.
Which Windows 7 is not in any shape or form at this point.
So this desparate clinging to the past for no good reason is just baffling to me.

Its just an OS, not your first car or some family heirloom.

XD it's not about nostalgia.. it's about using it as a daily routine. as you said, windows 7 was good. I dont understand why Microsoft screwed their windows, other than what we know today.. privacy intruder.. Do you guys, really believe that Microsoft gave away windows 10 for free? XD. nothing is free in this world, unles it come from poor people ,because it come from the heart.

So if windows 10 is free, where do they get their money then? lol.

Even in 2023, i have no security problem with my old windows 7. Maybe i'm not a target for pirate lol. as said before, pirate will seak the numbers, and there is huge numbers of people using windows 10. that means, you have more chance to get hacked if you use a newer version since you'll be the target.

I would have no difficulties to switch to newer version of windows, if this one was a Real Desktop OS. it's not about nostalgia.

you say it is not nostalgia than give the old man cry

"why'd they have to go and change it!!!???"

we are not even talking the previous system anymore

we are talking three os's deep

mainly microsoft dont really make money of normal users anymore but making someone pay for a new license every 5 to 10 years isnt sustain able for thats also 5 to 10 years where you wont make much money at all the real money comes from new pcs bought in stores with oem licenses and coperations. and probly reduce cost of supporting older os since less people will stay on old os if its free
