18+ Screenshots or Artwork
I've seen loads and loads of profile with naked girls showing private parts.
But I remember trying 2 years ago and I kept getting flagged, have they changed that so you can finally have a 18+ profile or not?

It its lewd content provided by the game (their profile pic, mini-background, etc) its allowed for some reason but user generated content of exactly the same images (screenshots, artwork, etc) will get deleted if someone flags it and steam support agrees. Aren't double standards lovely?

There is no lewd content in the points shop. No idea where you are seeing double standards.

"Sort off". It heavily depends on where those images are hosted, and what images they are.

If you upload nudity using an artwork showcase then this is a major nono; that can be reported and will be taken down.

The exception however are screenshots from games that actually contain nudity. Be carefull: I'm now referring to games as they are provided by Steam. This is a very important detail, because some lewd games try to circumvent being marked as "adult only" and provide a patch to unlock or uncensor the extra contents. If you upload those screenshots you're actually in violation of the ToS because the game - as it is originally hosted on Steam - doesn't contain nudity.

The reason why is simple: if a game is marked as "Adult only" you need to opt-in to be able and see that gamehub. In other words: you need to enable these contents in your profile settings. And any screenshots you upload from a game will be hosted on that games own hub.

So... if I upload a screenshot from, say, Midnight Ride and use my screenshot showcase to display this on my profile then it will only be viewable by those Steamers who specifically enabled adult contents as well. Everyone else will see nothing, at least not any actual screenshots.

So... TL;DR... yes, you can have nudity on your profile as long as it's behind Steam's content filter. So... part of game hubs (and maybe Steam groups as well, but I'm not sure of that); but only as long as that hub is marked as "adult only".

Hope this answers your question!

PS: Midnight Ride is actually one of my personal favorites, really fun game with a cute protagonist :waifu:

You mean nudity.

Lewd content? It's filled to the brim with it, and let's not forget those nazi avatars...

I've gotten flagged that was pretty much a hentai game called Neko something and like 3 or more screenshots got me flagged

The uploader has to use content descriptors for that. This is already possible. If you see something that is not suitable for a certain audience, then you have to change these settings:

That depends where the content is stored, make sure to upload your stuff to +18 game hubs.

Neko waifu perhaps?

Like I said: if a game uses a patch to unlock or enable n00ds then that can indeed get flagged. Because the unmodified game doesn't contain such images.

Unfortunately many developers try to hide or circumvent this and even make it look as if you're using official DLC. But in the end the issue remains that if their game - as is - doesn't contain nudity out of the box then you can get in trouble if you use their hub for that stuff.

(edit)

I'm pretty sure that this is not ok since wallpaper engine isn't a game / tool marked as adult only.

Keep in mind that Steam support / their mods are hardly the tyrant overlords as some like to claim they are. They don't see everything on Steam, they don't filter everything that gets uploaded and thus... they're also dependent on reports.

And when no one reports such contents then it's very unlikely anything gets done about it until the staff discovers this for themselves. Can't speak for others but I can't bother myself to report such stuff, obviously it also doesn't help that I'm not bothered by it in the least 😊

But yah, should someone report that then I'm pretty sure it'll eventually be taken down.

Nope, its store page has no age verification.

Then how do they do that without getting flagged?

Someone has to report things for them to be taken down. That goes for pretty much everything on Steam.

Well I assume that person advertises on groups a lot
for people to rate their stuff, which means a lot of people that are agaisnt it would eventually mass report them but they're fine?
