Steam > Settings > Account >> Beta participation > Click on Change... in the next window select Steam Beta Update > Click OK > Click Restart Steam
The client will restart, download the Beta, and reopen.
Bear in mind that it is Beta, not Stable, so things may not work as you expect them to.
Go back to Stable.
To go back to Stable....
Steam > Settings > Interface >> Client Beta Participation > select No beta chosen from the drop down list > Click Restart Now

and if any issues occur well thats to be expected i suppose given its beta
it's a beta lol. The point is that they're testing it to iron out issues & bugs.
when they changed to the current UI from the previous one, i had no issue using it. They were way different, but it was a huge improvement.
however, this new UI is basically just a texture pack update. It doesn't change the fundamentals of Steam. All your stuff is the same, but now it's just in a nicer-looking box and that's about it.
That is insane indeed.
Wait, I think it's a hybrid of the old and new UI. It definitely has the look and power the old UI but some buttons are from the new one. I hope Steam is starting to see the awesomeness of the old UI and decided to build the new UI based on it.
