Prepaid cards are, by the way, the polar opposite of convenience. They're a royal PITA.
No. That's why they are going under.
I 100% agree , especially gift cards with set denominations , like what you gonna do when you need to pay $51.37 but you only have a $50 gift card ? go back to the store and buy another one ? , seems like a huge waste of time to me tbh , and if you say , i can pay the rest with a CC , you could have done that from the start...
Even then debit cards and even rechargeable cards are much more useful.
"But think of the children!"
Let the parents deal with them.
they literately just posted a profit for the first time in 2 years
They aren't that important for the gaming industry.
Steam has Virtual Steam Gift Cards now.
But I can see your point in this, get more knowledge out there and branding etc. etc.
I only buy giftcards, for myself. Right now i'm waiting for dead island 2 and horizon forbidden west. If stores would no longer have steam giftcards. Then i would have to also bank online. Which i never did. Meaning i would not wait for these 2 games on steam, i would buy them on epic.
If anything, physical Steam cards WILL eventually be phased out as the consistent use of debt/credit cards as well as other forms of payment will render them obsolete.
I honestly suspect that this will be sometime in the near future if things keep going they way they have been.
