friend revoked steam sharing but can't launch game while they're playing
Hey guys, I've got a weird one that hopefully has an easy answer.

A bunch of friends have Baldur's Gate 3, and I wanted to share off my partner's library specifically. Friend A was the first person who shared his library with me, so it was only pulling from his- figured out that it would check off whoever's library got shared first. Had him revoke my access because he plays online a lot more than my partner, have been playing fine for the last few days.

He since started playing BG3 himself, and now I can't play despite him having fully removed my device. Even without any games running on my PC, every few minutes I get a popup stating 'Hey, [user] needs this shared game back! You have 71582788...', and whenever I try to launch BG3 it force closes while he's online. I've fully shut off my PC and restarted, closed down steam and relaunched multiple times.

It shows that I should be getting the game from my partner's library, who is offline, so I should be able to play. When I go into my steam family share settings, I can see that I don't have access to his library any more. Any ideas?

hmm
maybe you could visit https://store.steampowered.com/account/managedevices/
and see if you could remove any access to other's library

There is a small program called SFS-SELECT that lets you manually choose from which Family Share Library you receive a game.
Basically it lets you change the priority of Family Share libraries, so if multiple libraries have the same game, the one with the highest priority is the one that shares the game first.

Should be helpful in this situation.

Hey @LegitGopnik , sorry for the delay! I'd had to contact support in the end and hit them up twice to have them fix it on the back end of my account
