Steam store credibility.

The steam store has no credibility because steam allows players who have played less than 2 hours of a game to post a review, a review below 2 hours of play has no value and totally discredits the steam store.

It would be a good thing if steam decided to block useless reviews of less than two hours' play.

There are many ways to see if a game is good and Steam reviews, even though there are a lot of award farming one-liner jokers, are still generally a good indication of game's quality.

On release day, June 2nd, there were 90 positive reviews and 38 negative (could differ depending on language settings, I reckon). The negative ones are mostly saying the same thing, play SMB3 and skip 4 for now. They're also mostly all in depth.

It's not hate in any way, it's simply people who bought a game and found the sequel wasn't as good as they hoped.

It's quite clear that OP has an issue with accepting that other people might not enjoy a game they enjoyed themselves. And with accepting that it's fine that they don't.

If the game won't even run, and the user meets the system requirements, then being able to leave a review on the matter is a good thing. They shouldn't be forced to keep the game if it doesn't work either.

Skewing reviews in the developer's favor isn't doing anyone any favors.

The steam store is worthless and unreliable.

Every Store which offers some kind of reviews is something you can not trust, as a lot of those are unreliable.
Amazon is the worst on it, as they mix reviews from different versions of the same....so, be glad that steam reviews only suffer from trolls.

So explain how does that work for games you can beat within 2hrs?.

How many games are out there which you could beat in 2 hours? (not speedrunning those etc)

Considering the mentioned games Super Mega Baseball 4 and Madden NFL 24, more likely a person who likes games by EA Games.

Which is fine, btw. Just as fine as the people who gave negative reviews to those games.

Considering that a good portion of reviews show that one-liners were still too long, among other things, I'd say steam reviews do not have that much going for them in the first place.

Is there any serious data that proves bad reviews here on Steam, affect sales in any way? Def a sincere question being i really don't know.

I've seen games with great reviews that are awful, and games that get bad reviews that i love. Why would i go by what i see on a review, on Steam, IGN, Metacritic, the big gaming sites or otherwise?

IDK about any data, but there has atleast been whatever measures that has been taken against "review bombs".
