The problem with the "jester" "award" is that its bannable
If you do NOT want to give someone free points and say in the post "what a jester of a post" you'll get a community ban or a warning.

That means the jester award in itself is an insult or deragatory or some negative meaning in some manner. as the same rules would still apply only ones anonymous (except by steam can see it) and ones not. But since by default steam bans the use of the word jester (if calling a post that, not even a person just the post), the award itself is already breaking the rules for being on steam.

The award wouldn't be an issue at all if it was clear saying a post is a "jester" of a post wasn't bannable...that would mean steam sees no issue with the usage of jester. But since they do, the award actually breaks steams owns posting rules.

Steam should be clear with their rules. Saying a post is a jester of a post is either: not bannable/warnable, which means the award is fine...or...its wrong to do and then the award is wrong as well.

I don't think most would have a legit issue with it, if steam didn't make it a bannable offense to use the award as words in a post.

You're desperate for those jester points, aren't you?
Not true,
Color me skeptical.

The award itself is not a bannable offense.

The off topic, unconstructive remark is.

....and please show where a community a ban was given. A forum ban is NOT a community ban. Even IF a community was given, it wasn't that jester award or the comment that triggered it. People forget that your history is taken into consideration. Meaning you had many other infractions in the past.

What a jester of a post
You may be mixing correlation and causation
why isnt anyone of these jester posters asking for steam
to make the awards feature a option so that you can decline awards

it would sort the farmers out...

A better question is why no one seems to realize that they're still getting rewarded for all their nonsense?

If you ask me then the purchase:award ratio should be lowered by quite a bit thus making it easier and less profitable to gross in Jester awards.

You seem to be aware that this is not the case https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/3801650943420907168/?ctp=3#c3802777108680513404

The funny thing is. If someone calls someone a jester in a post, instead of "awarding" them with points, it is the person who calls the person a jester who gets banned or warned. But the jester award is the same exact thing...

the award wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't clearly a bannable insult.
