Like if I play doom on my PC at home
I could not let my friend play doom on his PC with my profile at same time.
No, I haven't checked the ToS for this, but common sense tells me there shouldn't be an issue unless the purpose of running said 2 game sessions is somehow nefarious.
If anything, you could be violating a game publisher's ToS if they suspect the sandbox is used to analyse the behaviour of said game.
I'm guessing that you are thinking of using a single PC as a server/emulator (probably virtual machines?)? If that's the case then each VM is going to be considered as a different instance of a computer as far as Steam as a client goes.
I skimmed through the TOS but couldn't find anything that stood out in regards to this. I will admit I could've easily missed this info as well. thus my post.
The idea of sandbox in this context is to run multiple steam clients - to utilize multiple accounts - to play the same game at the same time - on the same PC.
Yea the game I'm playing apparently allows you to use alternate accounts to help 'farm loot' since their console version allows split screen - thus double loot. The Pc version does not have this feature.
I want to make sure I'm not breaking a steam TOS since I have to use the steam client to use the game.
*edit* on a side note - I would like to mention I feel using this method is complete B.S. and the game developer should allow an in-game option for their PC version. Going through 3rd party methods to achieve similar results of console owners is garbage.
Essentially you're a different Steam user, on a separate system, with a different copy of the game - can't see it being an issue on Valve's side.
for steam, i do not think they would care, unless it somehow reads as you trying to hijack another account
seeing as how two people with two computers can play at the same time in the same house, i doubt it
the games themselves might have a problem with it
some are a little vague, saying that as long as you are using different key strokes for each account, and not using software to clone em, you are good
others are straight up against it
