I'm an American citizen of the United States as such I am a Representative of the United States.
Not sure you understand how our Constitution works...
Nor our laws for that matter.
Your not a member on the supreme court
Your not the vice nor actual president
Your not one of the four existing five star generals
Your not any head of a federal office
Your not the US rep on the UN council
Your not the US rep on the NATO council
Your claims to law breaking are literally void until a member of congress agrees and making these types of post is just asking for Steam to slap you with a temp ban.
I didn't know that Internet was sanctioned.
Steam can't sell games to Russia, or pay Russian publishers. At this stage, however, I didn't know that you had to block Russians from accessing your site.
And if that's the case, why don't ISPs do it on their end?
Just because you have a citizenship you dont represent any official values. Even in the case that you do share the same view as the official one, joe from next door might not, and based on your theory he would also be a representative just like you.
See how that can not work out well?
I think, it is allways better to let people have access to knowledge and communication with other people, than leaving them locked out while you complain how they dont share your values. No one tells them your values if you lock them out. They could be told anything and could believe it.
Did you never wonder why radio stations and other things were prohibited to read for people in the history? To not allow them to see outside knowledge.
Only specific type of business are directly effected by the sanctions. Many companies have chosen to leave Russia on their own, despite the sanctions not applying to them.
Valve/Steam does not need to stop running in Russia. Russian companies can't receive money from Steam/Valve for purchases, and user can't make purchases, due to sanctions with the banking systems.
There is no reason to prevent users from accessing the purchases they already made.
Yes, we do, as the only sanction that would effect Valve are indirect sanctions that effect the banking system.
I dont know...
i just thought Steam and everything was being blocked til i saw these stats yesterday
sanctions... not sanctions...
Cultural and connectivity sources for real people would make no sense to lock.
In the end, sanctions are meant to put the world together. Not to drive others apart intellectualy.
They are however, able to play games they already own and also buy/sell/traded their existing items to get funds.
Which is a direct consequence of the monetary sanctions like Russia being disconnected from international money transfers.
Which is a direct consequence of both Internet and video games not getting sanctioned explicitly.
They obey what they have to, which includes not being able to pay certain parties or allow payment from certain parties. The entire country is not sanctioned in terms of cutting off access to everything.
You being an American citizen does not make you a representative of the United States in any legal sense.
