Standard? Deluxe? Ultimate? What are these on store pages?
I see this a lot:

  • Buy Juniper Jump 4 Standard Edition

  • Buy Juniper Jump 4 Deluxe Edition

  • Buy Juniper Jump 4 Ultimate Edition

But what are the differences? Why aren't these explained on the store pages?

It should be on the store page. Which game doesn't explain it?

It should normally be mentioned; if not on the main store page then on some of the DLC product pages. In the end this usually resolves around DLC. Standard is without DLC, Ultimate is with all DLC and other versions lie somewhat in between.

Usually it is mentioned on the store page in a collapsable field that has a "Read More" clickable part to expand it. Do you have an example?

If a publisher doesn't put an explanation up the store page, if a publisher requires the community to compile spreadsheets of what's included where (Ubisoft), that's a good reason to give this game a pass.

This is called the current state of big league gaming industries. A bunch of people kept throwing money at them regardless of how inane the business practice was, so they butcher their games up until only the fans willing to throw in double the money can see the "full game."

Umm, which of their (Ubisoft) games are like that?

In the common tongue.

Standard = Base Game

Deluxe = Base game + extra (day 1 dlc or season pass and crap like that)

Ultimate = Base game + extra + crap only hardcore fans care about. (bonus material like soundtracks, design stuff etc...)

Can't guarantee its like this for every game but that is usually how that goes.

I remember people compiling tables for one of the Watch Dogs titles, as well as Assassin's Creed. Either way, Ubisoft are among the companies not getting the meaning of "Ultimate". If the game got an ultimate edition and then still more expensive editions with more "goodies", some marketing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ really needs a kick in the balls/clam.

I think you've been misinformed.

From the Watch_Dogs 2 store page

And Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Glancing the other games shows similar descriptions of editions.

That's not what he was talking about though.

Developers/publishers are responsible for generating their store pages - some provide a 'bundle info' button if the edition contains lots of DLC's. Others outline the differences on the store page description itself and a minority of devs don't actually state anything about each one so you have to dig elsewhere or ask in the game forum. Usually if they don't explain what's included in the higher tier versions, it's usually a load of crap to inflate the price.
