Is it worth buying skins on games?
Why do people need skins in games like Rust, Cs go and TF2?

On the other hand you would have great print on your things
Luckily, I am virtually impervious when it comes to skins. Sometimes base skins are so ugly, or everybody looks exactly the same, for those reason I would buy a skin.

Some people like to look good, some have too much money to spend, others like to "flex" on other people, there are plenty of reasons, is it really worth it?. Not really, but it is slightly better than throwing your cash in the trash.

You do not NEED them that's the whole point.

They offer zero advantage, which is also the point. It's just a way to mentize as some people like to customise stuff.

If you see no value in it, don't do it - simples.
I love buying skins. I have spend a small fortune buying skins in games such as CSGO, TF2, World of Tanks, Fallout 76 and many other online games. For me, it's just something I find fun and enjoy doing.

I can't explain it myself but I do draw the line when it comes to loot boxes. I prefer to buy my skins direct from the games store or even the steam market in the case of CSGO and TF2 and not through any kind of gambling like loot boxes.
Have you seen the junk in the CoD store? Those can't even be traded or sold. You just spend $5 - $25 on junk only you can use. And most aren't even that great looking.

I quite like buying skins, but my missus is getting fed up with the smell of rotting neighbours and animals.

You were being literal right?
i dont personally buy skins as id rather just buy another game with the money

Sometimes they do have an advantage. Which is why I think it's worth buying them in some games.
Of course, buying /trading skins and hats is literally the main goal in TF2.
Vanity.

The answer to the question is - depends on the person.

Is their money, so so be it.

Imagine you just paid real money.
Now you have a skin.
Was that worth it?
If you sell that skin later and make money, it's worth it.

Anyway in regards to Rust, some skins give an advantage. You have glow skins. So a cheap glow door, box or rug skin can make it easier to navigate at night without lights. There's also a skin for the Hazmat that changes the stats a little to allows you to go in colder areas. And you have weapon skins with coloured sights that make it easier to see when quickly aiming, and some even glow which are not allowed anymore, and those ones will cost you more.

My favourite is a door I use for my submarine in Rust. It's a very subtle glowing door which I always place underwater. It allows me to park my sub at night without turning on any lights to see what I'm doing. Which is very handy in staying discreet.
No. You don't need them.
