Are spoiler tags gone or something?

I just checked my screenshot library and noticed that my spoilerific screenshots for Danganronpa are 100% unspoiler-marked.

I'll be hiding them for the moment, but I know I marked them as spoiler. However, going to the screenshot itself, I can't find an option to give it the spoiler tag again.

Spoiler tags expire after a while ... because reasons?
Don't know the time framefor sure, though, but IIRC it was like three months.

Weird, first time I've heard of this. I'll have to check that out. But that sucks to hear. Danganronpa is one of those games that you really really really don't want spoiled, and it's not incredibly popular so there's a lot of potential newcomers to the series, who any of them could see my screenshots.

Yours would be pretty far down in the SS page in the game hub after months. That's why it does not matter if the spoiler goes away after a while.

But... It'd be at the top of my screenshots page. I mean, I'm not delusional enough to think that it's going to ruin the game for everyone in the world, but I do have a friend who is a bit interested in the series who might go to my screenshots page on one bored afternoon. As well as the random chance that any random stranger who happens to be interested in/starting the series, would so happen to go to my profile from the forums and so happen to go to my screenshots because whatever reason. It's pretty slim, but is possible.

Yeah, I get that part. And it makes sense. But I'm just saying as well, the point I'm trying to make is that it can still be the way I said, so there can still be a use for the spoiler tag.

Though you're not a part of Valve or anything, is something I understand as well, and isn't my intention to come off as thinking.

Hehehe. Uploading the same set of screenshots 4 times a year. That's kinda funny to me. But yeah, that's an idea I had.

To keep it on the most down-low, I think I'll just upload spoilers with the tag, then a while later I make it go Hidden and use the direct link to share it with whoever I want to share it with.

Or instead of users going through a hassle, Steam could just remove this ridiculous de-spoilering. It's not unheard of that people watch movies or play games WAAAY after release. So spoilers are always relevant.
And not every hub or profile is this active for UGC dropping off after a certain amount of time.

Imagine you'd just made friends with OP and go through their screenshot gallery ... to be spoiled the very game you are currently playing.

But why? Spoiler is always a spoiler, why can't we keep them so people won't get spoiled? Also Steam shows that there are spoiler tag, but no spoiler protection on the screenshot itself
