I Think There's A Glitch In The Point Store
I'm thinking that some of the PS items, like those from Steam 3000/Summer Sale 2022 and Forge Your Fate, are missing.

Proof:

Steam 3000

Steam DB: https://steamdb.info/app/2021850/communityitems/

Point Shop: https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/app/2021850?curator_clanid=4777282&utm_source=SteamDB

Forge Your Fate:

Steam DB: https://steamdb.info/app/1658760/communityitems/

Point Shop: https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/app/1658760?curator_clanid=4777282&utm_source=SteamDB

Autumn Sale 2021

Steam DB: https://steamdb.info/app/1792490/communityitems/

Point Shop: https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/app/1792490?curator_clanid=4777282&utm_source=SteamDB

As one can see, some of the items, like animation frames, chat stickers, and mini profiles are missing. I think that this is a glitch.

Not sure what you mean by missing. Do you mean the icons or something aren't showing up for you? Or do you mean the items themselves are removed from the shop? If the latter then some sale items are temporary - are you sure this is not the case?

I think that there's a glitch in the PS that makes them missing, since I saw other Steam event items, like the early Halloween sale, that are still in the Point Shop long after the event has past. Everything is there, frames, mini-profiles, and such. The examples that I gave shows that there's some items are gone from the PS.

Now if it was certain badges, it's safe for me to assume that they're temporary.

Items are not guaranteed to stay in the Store. Some stay, some dont. It's up to the Owner's Discretion, not a Guarantee.

I think that the case is like this old incident: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/3115897635596015607/

Though the Steam DB should have said when the items should have been removed. Instead of saying that these items ate still there in the SP shop. That old thread talking about Doctor Who and Joyce items "getting deleted" is similar.

SteamDB is not Steam. While it has a lot of information about Steam, it is not affiliated with Steam. Items in the Points Shop have either been delisted, removed, or bundled up since its introduction. Changes are made all of the time. Just because SteamDB can provide you a direct link to it doesn't mean it's actually available in the Points Shop that way.

It's a long-lasting bug that affects not only those event point shop items, but many games as well. I've reported it several times already, but Valve doesn't care.

It's because it's not a bug.

I can defend Narcissistic a bit, what he is reporting on happened to an art software that I bought and paid for. Fire Alpaca SE's Items disappeared one day from the Point Shop. It's only when I did a bit of research and found out that the same was happening to other software and games.

Again, Points Shop items no longer being available is not a bug. The Points Shop is not a place where items are perpetually available after being placed on the Shop. Sometimes those items are removed or repackaged as I mentioned before.

You asked about it twice in the Fire Alpaca SE forum back in June and July.

I just found out that the goodies are gone from the main Point Shop. The whole thing is glitching out.

Did you guys remove your Point Shop stuff? It's because, the page is still there, if that's your intentions. If that's not the case, please, bring your stuff back and fix this glitch.

Unfortunately no one provided you with a reply and both times it's you that refers to the missing items as a "glitch".

Sometimes items are removed. Why? That's up to the developers, publishers, and Valve to decide. But them simply not being available through the Points Shop does not equate it to being a "glitch".

If there is any bug to mention it's the fact that a site like SteamDB can still direct link to the item's unavailable listing. If it were a link to delisted game, the Store would simply redirect you to the front page of the Store. What Valve should really do is provide a similar redirect for the Points Shop when an item is no longer available.

So you seriously believe that for some reason the developer/publisher/Valve decided to remove two specific emoticons and three backgrounds in this particular case?

At least try to name a semi-valuable reason behind this, without resorting to "ReeEEe, IT's NoT a BUg!!11" again.

The Steamcardexchange website lists community market items, not points shop items. Not all community market items get also released in the points shop. The items currently in the points shop also are the only items for that game in the points shop: https://steamdb.info/app/255420/communityitems/

The thing is they used to be there. I can name at least a dozen more games which emoticons/backgrounds have partially dasappeared this way. And it's complete nonsense to assume that it was an intentional move by Valve, because it would simply eliminate the meaning of points shop, which was introduced to let the game owners get items without paying on the market.

Game developers/publishers are the ones who decide what they do or do not offer (anymore) on the points shop. It's completely optional for them to participate in that and they can choose to stop offering items through it if they so wish.

If it was a glitch, the items would still be listed on the SteamDB site and have an active link to the item acquisition page (as was in the thread you linked earlier). But your last example has none of that. It very much indicates that the game developer/publisher only wants to offer the items currently there.

That said, the items that are missing from the events in the OP also don't have active acquisition pages when I use the links from the SteamDB website. That would indicate the items have been disabled, though it also could mean server issues.

Thats quite ironic of you to say while basically reeeing about being so sure its a glitch, when you have no proof whatsoever beside your own Belief.

I used to think that if a game has X backgrounds and Y emoticons, they are all automatically available at the points shop (at least this is how it worked before). And I'm not talking about games like Deathloop, which points shop page was empty from the beginning due to the publisher's decision.

Publishers removing select items manually simply makes no sense. I would understand if this happened only to the delisted games like Magic 2015, or events (so that publishers could profit more from the community market sales of rare items), but it is happening to both old and new games, cheap and expensive items alike. What's more important, it spreads to more and more titles recently. The randomness of these occurences is what made me think it's a bug on Steam's end.
