Women for just novels.
2) I'm pretty sure that one game isn't (just) rated worse because of female protagonist
3) Most people buying such games are men
4) ...
5) Profit!
1) It was an example of me prefering a female protagonist.
2) Maybe true
3) Some men prefer to play as girls in game, some prefer to play as guys. Till my 30's i prefered to play a guy but now i prefer to play a girl in my games.
There are also girls who prefer to play as man in their games.
Life is strange base, before the storm and True colors have female protagonists and yet a lot of guys played them despite it having no male protagonist option.
4)...
5) I much prefer playing a slutty girl then playing a guy since I am a guy irl, I would prefer a game to show me this from different point of view.
Search results for "female protagonist".
Granted, it's going to pick up games that have an improperly applied user-defined tag of "female protagonist" (for the same reason some folks apply the "Multiplayer" tag to games that are Singleplayer-only), but there's a list of games from pretty much any genre that have you playing as a female character.
