The best controller for Steam?
Recently, I have been playing Celeste, and my wrists have been paying for it on keyboard and mouse. 3D platformers are generally easier with controller too. So, I started to think of getting a controller for my PC, but I am unsure on what to buy.

I have been looking at the DualSense, as I find them very comfortable when I have used other people's. Is there anything else around this £50 price range (would be nice if cheaper) that works well with steam, or is a DualSense a good bet?

i use a logitech f310 gamepad for anything that needs a controller. in my eyes, it's the only controller anyone should ever need (unless they want vibration :vlambeerFish: )

I was looking at the Series X controller, and it looks incredible, but it is flippin' expesnive. DualSense may be the way to go then, how is it connecting to Steam?

This appeals to the cheapskate in me, as it doesn't cost a billion pounds like all the others, but it looks a bit crampt, how are the ergonomics on it?

it feels nice to use, but i don't really know what other controllers are like (besides afterglow xbox360)

edit: now that i'm thinking about it, afterglow controllers are pretty good too

If you don’t have the small hands issue. I’d go for an Xbox controller.

Otherwise I’d look for third party controllers.(you know what I mean.)

I never liked the PlayStation sticks personally. Because I have to bend my thumbs in a way that becomes uncomfortable after extended play. The Xbox style feels more natural to me.

For ease of use and compatibility I would recommend an Xbox series controller. I play wired, so I simply plug it in and play.

Of the controllers I used, Xbox 360 gives me the best feeling so far, I also have a copy one from some company called betop (or something it's pretty warn out) and have to say one of the better once I try
I got some PlayStation controllers as well but always found the Xbox working better for more PC games, and more comfortable to paly with
Steam Controller also not bad, but don't work the best for many controller games find it better for outehrs

Get a decent brand of whatever controller you find most comfortable. If you go too cheap you'll find yourself replacing them at frequent intervals. *glares at rock candy controllers.

Switch Pro is my favorite by far, with one big caveat.

The triggers are buttons, so you can't half pull them, meaning it's not a great controller for most racing games or anything else that utilizes pressure sensitive triggers.
