How to transfer a game from gog to steam?

Does anyone know the steps to add or transfer a game to steam from GOG?

You can't. You can add the game's executable as a non-Steam game, but that is about it. You won't get any of the extras you could from buying it on Steam.

To add a non-Steam game:
Click "Add a Game" in the bottom left corner of the Steam Client. Then "Add a Non-Steam Game" and select the game form the list OR "Browse" to the game's executable file.

GOG used to run GOG connect which let you link a steam game to GOG

But it appears given the massive amount of abuse it generated and the fact that many higher profile games like Stellaris were on it then pulled out almost immediately, tells me the program was generally a failure even from a promotional standpoint

Thank you. I thought you could transfer all your games from gog over to steam but I guess not. That's ok. People always have to abuse and ruin things for others, it never fails..lol

No, it never was possible from GOG to Steam. It was possible the other way around for a few selected titles, but due to abuse and other factors it wasn't well received and in the end discontinued.

Screenshots work? I always thought Steam is attaching them to the proper game automatically --- where do they end up for non-Steam games?

There will be only the name of your game. No any link to steamcommunity.

Adding a non-Steam game only adds the shortcut, it doesn't suddenly get Steam features.

Achievements is a no. If the game supports cross-platform play (yes, between 2 PC launchers is also cross-platform), then you can.
