Recommendation for RPGs without the Blood and Guts?
I love a good RPG, but apparently I have a weak stomach. I just can't get past all the piles of gore and fountains of blood. What good RPGs are out there that tone down the gore?

I enjoyed the dynamics of both the Divinity games and Elder Scrolls games, but have always ended up turning them off because I couldn't handle the blood, gore, and consistent theme of human sacrifice.

I *loved* Horizon Zero Dawn, and enjoyed Fenyx Rising.

What else is out there?

Thanks!

Atelier series certainly doesn't have blood or gore.
Also Dragon Quest.

But those are JRPGs, not action RPG.

Disco Elysium—though it’s not wholly gore-free.

If you don't mind the dated graphics and gameplay, you could try Anachronox.

Stardew Valley
Eastshade
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (you can play without killing anyone)
Disco Elysium
Stranded Sails - Explorers of the Cursed Islands

Kingdoms of Amular and Fable are both fun RPG's that are fairly tame on the blood and guts front as far as i recall.

Not Kingdom of Amalur. He will lose it, after he kills a troll. :D Or backstabs things in general. :D They bleed like crazy.-

I have problems to even remember games that do not work that way. I expect thing to bleed, after I stab them....

Hm, try "Jedi Fallen Order". EA was too timid to put in severed limbs. Thing do not bleed that much, too. Game is boring, though.

Ah, I've played Fallen Order; I enjoyed that one, too.

Kingdom of Amalur looks promising though. Maybe it's just *human* blood that gets me - I don't think I have a problem with monsters.

No blood, gore, etc. However it's a permadeath RPG.

Stranded Sails is fun...

I finished it.
No, thanks!

Joke aside, some Visual Novels with RPG elements have zero blood, still the story of the game is quiet unsettling, horrific scenes in mid-game and depends on how you are able to finish.... VN like this, for example called: The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty. I would rather watch some bloods and gore then relieve this anyway brilliantly written story again.

Btw., just play GOTHIC 1-2, you can switch off blood and you don't have to kill most humans if you don't want.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
