I wouldn't suggest buying anything until then anyway since literally there is a sale in less than a day.
i refunded it and got my money back in my steam wallet at $59.99 USD
now steam has added an Australian steam store price in AUD finally and guess what, the total i have in my account is not the amount that the game costs now, i have $82.67 in my account but the game costs A$ 84.95
like yeah its not a whole lot but i have to wonder how many people got F'ed over a little bit and actually lost money when this happened
For the most part the prices look about right to the exchange rate when you add in the tax that isn't included for America like it is for us, maybe give or take a dollar. Valkyria Chronicles 4 remains price-♥♥♥♥♥♥ with it being $60 USD and now $99 AUD.
Now thats a big oof.
If the developer chooses to put it in at the exhange rate, yes. Prices are set by the developers, not automaticaly converted to AUD at a set rate.
So if the developer set the AUD price a few weeks ago, and use the exchange rate at that time, then it could be more or less then the current echange rate (just as an example), hence there is likely to be such variation.
Other developers mach choose a different way to price their game in AUD and that can be higher or lower as well and possibly by greater amounts.
On another note, if a developer failes to set a price in AUD, then the game may not even be purchasable until the price has been set.
I agree with this, most pricing I have seen has been pretty close to current conversion rate, only a few greedy ones seem to have gone for the $99 AAA approach.
