Activision Publisher sale is a joke
Yeah it's a joke. Black ops is 19.50 in my currency and is 50% off. This is a game that's 12 years old. Then there's the other games where they're older and have the same discount and stuff. World at war is 14.25, MW2 is as well. Black ops 2 is 3 cents cheaper than black ops 1, the hell's going on?! The cod games that no one cares about are 9.50 (for the first game) and 14.25 for the second game. MW1 is 9.50...
I know Activision Blizzard is a really greedy company but good Lord these games are over a decade old, no way in hell should you be charging two figures for them on sale!
Nevermind the 89.90 Swiss franc needed to pre order MW2 remastered. EXCUSE ME?!

This is a little rant because i want to get these games but I'll just stick to my old Xbox 360 or Wii. Activision is the only one that seems to do this, the rest drops in price over the next decade...

This isn't the publishers forum. No one here cares
The devs and publishers set the prices and some will not care how old a game is as there is no reason to reduce the prices of games really as software does not depreciate like most physical items do some believe.

No one's making you buy it. Don't like the price, then don't buy, no one is ripping you off.

You are not entitled to what you want, for the price you want it.
That's Ubisoft discounting strategy for the last decade. They don't want people to go back to former titles. They want their userbase to buy (and populate) the latest one instead of disgregating between the older games.

I've had MW2 on my wishlist for over a decade, never reaching a price point I'm interested in purchasing. One has to accept sometimes businesses don't want your money.

Go ask Nintendo as they are great at never reducing their prices on their games often times.

Again it varies by the devs and publishers of the game as not everyone will accept lowering their price for older games as much as some may do.

Unsurprisingly, ActiBlizz can't, no matter how much of an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Kotick is, control prices of second-hand games.

But you can still vote with your wallet.

Maybe. Maybe it's that, maybe it's other reasons for physical games basically not existing in the PC space anymore. Like the cost of pressing DVDs which is higher, than putting a license slip into the retail box and callimg it a day...

Still, the end result is the same: vote with your wallet.

Yup, pressing CDs does bite into profit margins!

I am voting with my wallet by going second hand lmao

I am by going for deep discounts and not buying in the first place if no such discount appears.

Gotta be patient with Activision then. I do the same, what beats saving a few bucks?
