Lost perfect games in my profile
I've double checked completionist and no more games have had achievements added and I haven't even completed a game in the past 2 days but when I came on today it dropped to 789 and before it was about 805 perfect games. Usually a count would change ie if game added achs when you next perfect a game but don't know what is going on as I don't see anyone else's profile change?

A few days ago Steam removed multiple games from the store. If you had all achievements of those games they no longer count since the games have been deleted from the Steam Database.
If you bought the games you still own them and can play them but they no longer count for your games list, your achievements and similar.

Is that changed the policy? As before when they removed games I still kept my number of perfect games (re number of achs I never keep track of).

It depends if the game was just removed for licensing reasons or similar OR if Vavle cut ties with that developer completely. In the second case the games will be deleted from the Steam Database, meaning achievements, trading cards, everything.

Did your overall game count also go down or just the perfect games number?

I like to point out 2 things that may be relative, it may be what Ogami here says
It may also be some of the games are on the "Steam is learning about this game"
That means the achievements do not count to the overall till the game proves its a actual game and then has some limits on it

You can see an example of a game like that (for the time been) here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/787040/Perfect_Heist/

If you look where it shows the feathers (Multiplayer, Online Multi-player, Steam Achievements, Stats) you will also see a somewhat new one that is "Steam is learning about this game" and then a ? to tell you what it means
Steam is still learning about this game. Until more players have interacted with it, some features will be restricted:
  • Trading cards will not be available and the number of achievements is limited
  • Achievements won't contribute to global achievement count, and cannot be shown in a Steam Profile's Achievement Showcase
  • The game itself won't contribute to an account's game library count, and cannot be shown in a Steam Profile's Game Collector Showcase

I lost 8 perfect games today, well when I checked my profile 15 minutes ago, damn dude you beat me to it. :( :smiley_s:

I still don't know like the OP which perfected games I lost?

As usual no official news/announcement on which games/perfected games being removed, more transparency would help I think, I said it.

Worst of all is tracking sites like c.me and Astats don't help either. They still think I have these games 100%-ed. I just want to update my list and remove these 35 games. I also lost a bit of AGC% but I am not sure if it's a bit or a lot.

35 perfected games is definetly a lot. :( :bird: Well as for me, I let steam do their things now, I don't even check Astats, Completionist and so on, hoping Steam will post an annoucement finally!!...but alas no, perfected games count, is so minor for Valve, it is not worth it for them to care lol... :)

thanks for all the info. I thought losing 16 perfect games in one day was a lot until I saw here 35! It's the lack of info from steam's part that is frustrating if they just tell you what games it was or what was going on it'd be OK.

When the majority of those perfect games are in games like "Achievement Hunter" and other cheap asset flips which just give you 100% achievements for breathing, those "perfect games" don't really mean anything.

Actually if you did any research into this (or even see the example earlier in thread) then you will know that it isn't just about or even mostly achievement spam games. I don't play them, there is a list I saw which had over 2,600 games in steam re being affected this. A lot of games in my wishlist is now on it and none are in any shape or way spam/spam like games. So don't assume because you see someone with a highish perfect game count that they are playing achievement spam games.

I don't have to "assume." You literally have 3 games called "Achievement Hunter", multiple Professor Watts games, Trashville, 4 Zup! games, 5 My Coloring Book games, all which are known achievement spam games and that's just to name a few. Your game list is literally a comprehensive index of known achievement spam games, which had to have taken a conscience effort to acquire. Or you're telling me you got coloring book games made for 3 year olds because you're such a huge fan of them? Hey, it's your life. You can do what you want but the whole harumfing about your "perfect games" isn't really flying. Just saying.
Gingergal Jun 15, 2018 @ 7:57pm
2 professor watt games which had 1 achievement each until recently and stopped buying them as the word one didn't work past level 3.

zup games are actually fun games to play and any games I play in the past couple of years I want to play and are fun. I am old enough to play games I find fun and those coloring book games along with vikki spotter I play with no hints and are actually fun and all have those 1 or 2 items in each puzzle which take a bit to find even though most are finished quickly.

Just because a lot of people play those with auto clickers doesn't mean there isn't legit people that play them cause they are good and fun and actually play them.

So again most of my perfect game count is of quality hard to work out games and those relaxing games I play inbetween and have for my family to play as well.

@BossGalaga

I also played spam games and a lot of them but I will tell you why I did that. I never cared about the big achievement count. Those games were just easy hundos like some people call them so I played them to boost my numbers. I don't play such games anymore except for trivia vault which went from 1 achievement to 5000. As someone who grinded old games for 9 months to go from 98 to 99 Average game completion percentage (AGC%) I had to play them again to restore my AGC%. In fact I will be happy if Valve remove all achievement spam games or make them not count in any way. That way people won't have 1 million achievements... It's not right to judge someone by their numbers though. Just because I played many spam games doesn't mean I don't have hard real games completed. If you don't trust me you can check my list of perfect games on my profile.

But right now we got no info on which games don't count anymore or why they don't count. People said they are demos. That makes sense I guess as technically they aren't really games so having a demo counted as perfect game is a bit weird and I don't mind getting these removed from the counter either (which might have already happened as like I said I lost 35 games but only 105 achievements).

One thing is known for sure: there will be no more fake achievement spam games. That solves half of the problem. If they remove the already existing ones that will completely solve the problem. Honestly I was expecting to go from 550K or so achievements to 50K and from 926 perfect games to 700-ish. I also expected to lose my 3K game badge. I already have 209 banned games, lol. Guess they are still working on the changes and the end result will be available when the sale launches (21st June).

Seen it. It was posted in a private group only developers have access to. Thanks for posting it so other people can see it as well.
