I cant gift my friend a steam gift card. Why and how can I gift him one?

Hello, I am having issues gifting a steam gift card (money, not a game) to one of my friends. He's been added as a friend of mine since 6 months ago, so the 3 day requirement is passed. He lives in a country foriegn to mine.

All context aside, everytime I try to gift him a monetary steam gift card, it just tells me this:

"There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."

How can I fix this?

I tried to, but I couldnt find a button to contact support. Just FAQs and pointers to my situation.

try buying a gift card from a retailer and giving him the code? Maybe theres a region lock between your regions for games/gift cards

Gift cards can only be used in the region in which they are bought, if I recall correctly.

Correct. Physical gift cards are region/currency locked.

Each Steam User Account is associated with a specific currency, which you can see in the top right corner of your Steam Client. Going forward, you may encounter an error if you try to activate a Steam Wallet Code issued in a different currency than the one of your Steam User Account.

Are you trying to gift wallet funds? Wallet funds can't be gifted. You need to pay with debit/credit card, paypal or other supported payment method.

Is your friend in any of the following countries: Argentina, Turkey, Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Gifting to and from those countries has been restricted.
